Hello Lovelies! Another week has flown by with the One Room Challenge and Emma’s Ice Cream Social Bedroom is coming along quite nicely. Next week was supposed to be the “big reveal” but the event organizers of the ORC extended the reveal an extra week. That means you get one more week of updates then the big reveal will be on November 15th. I am beyond excited to show you the completed space!!
Remember my cute little mid century hutch?
I spent all week painting and papering and now it is completely transformed!
I am so happy with how it turned out! I am especially loving the paper I designed for the back. I was going to order it in wallpaper but to keep costs down I ordered it in wrapping paper instead.
I used double sided tape to adhere the paper to the back of the hutch and I love how it turned out!
Emma has been busy creating little things to fill the shelves. This polymer clay unicorn and rainbow are just too cute.
Also, Emma’s bed is finally complete with a perfect secret hiding place/reading nook underneath. My sprinkle wallpaper came last week and I love how it ties in all the colors of the room. The peel and stick wallpaper was quick and easy to put up and adds the perfect element of whimsy.
Emma has been spending tons of time reading in her little secret fort. It is hard to capture in a photograph but the space is just so fun! Using washi tape and velcro strips I hung fairy lights under the bed. I also found the perfect little light up sign from Target. Emma has been having a blast changing the message every few days. We also filled the space with a few of her favorite stuffed animals including her giant rainbow caterpillar from her Aunt Kiona.
Lastly, remember that adorable pink and gold chair from Home Goods? It finally has a little rug to sit upon. I found the rug at, you guessed it, Target. I seriously love that store. Seriously.
That’s it for today! Remember to check out the progress of all the other amazing participants by clicking below.
See you next week!
