Recently we had the most wonderful Primary activity at the St. Paul Temple! For many of our primary children it was the first time they had ever been on the temple grounds and it ended up being a wonderful experience.
We started by having a member of the temple presidency talk to the children about getting a temple recommend and why the temple is such a special place.
The children then went to 3 more stations on the temple grounds and learned about baptisms, sealings, and the different symbols on the temple.
I wanted the children to be able to create something to remember this special day. So I came up with the idea to make these mini temple scrapbooks. They are simple, inexpensive and the kids ended up having a fabulous time creating them!
The last page had a spot for the children to glue in different temples from around the world that they would like to visit someday. You can find the temple pictures here, here and here.
To create your own temple scrapbook you will need:
- 3 paper lunch bags
- glue
- various stickers (mine are from Michael’s in the day planner section)
- temple cards found here, here, and here
- Free Temple Book Printable
Instructions:
Stack 3 lunch sacks on top of each other (alternating the bulky bottom part) and sew down the middle with a sewing machine.
Precut all the pages and have the children glue each page into the paper bag book. Decorate with stickers and personalize to your liking 🙂
And that’s it! Super simple and a meaningful keepsake to help them remember their special day.
