A few weeks ago Emma started her first dance class and she needed a bag to keep her shoes inside. I thought about making one from scratch, but then I found this great little bag at Target on clearance for $4!
So instead of starting from scratch, I just added a few embellishments to make it pretty.
Here is the before and after…
I began by lightly writing her name on the bag with pencil. Next I used white DMC floss to embroider her name. I used a simple stitch called a back stitch. If you have never used a back stitch, you can find a tutorial here. I promise it’s easy.
After her name was finished, I started on the little polka dot scarf.
Here are the simple steps…
After I finished top stitching, I tied the scarf around the handle and added a couple of quick stitches to keep the scarf in the right position.
And that’s it.
A cute little bag all her own.
That definitely won’t get lost in the crowd.
