Welcome to Part 2 of building our house.  If you missed part 1 click here

And if you missed why we moved back to Minnesota click here

As the house was being built, we took a trip out every week to see the progress.  It’s pretty amazing how quickly things progressed.

Windows…

Then drywall.

Once the drywall went up things started to get super exciting.  Rooms took shape and little details emerged like arched doorways.

This is a view from the front door looking towards the back of the house.  On the right is the music room and on the left is the formal dining.

As you keep walking, it opens up into the kitchen and breakfast area (below).  I love all the huge windows and natural light.  Our main windows face southeast so lots of sunshine comes in even during those frigid Minnesota winters.

And the gathering room…

Basement…

Kitchen cabinets…

Built-ins…

Butler’s Pantry…

Railing…. (Looking from the gathering room to the front door.)

First glimpse of our exterior colors..

Siding complete!

Garage doors (still unpainted)…

And my most favorite part…. the thing that makes me smile every time I drive home… the pink door!
