So I know it’s kind of quirky, but I have a miniature collection 🙂
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been completely fascinated with tiny things! Â I spent years going to antique stores looking for them. Â Likewise, my family would always keep their eyes out and find little treasures to give me for my birthday or Christmas.Â
Once I left for college my collection got boxed up and was put away for years. Â They had been in boxes for 14 years when I decided it was time to bring them back to life!
I knew I couldn’t display them in my old wooden printers trays (a little too country for me) so I decided to give it a little update. Â I sifted through my collection, picked out my favorite things, and displayed them in this revamped printers tray!
To make the tray a little more up to date I spray painted it white and covered the back of each square with scrapbook paper.
Want a closer look? Â Here are a few of my favorites…..
When we were living in England, we visited Bath (charming English town, think Jane Austen) and I found a wonderful little miniature shop. Â I bought these pastries there….
I also bought this little “Botanical Sketchbook”. Â The pages are filled with drawings of flowers.
I can not remember when or where I got this little box, but it has always been one of my favorites. Â Inside is a tiny little thimble.
Here are some glass animals we bought while in Venice, Italy. Â They are incredibly delicate.
And here are a few more of my favorites…
Top Row: Â Harmonica (really plays), Â Jack-in-the-box, book “Emma” by Jane Austen
Middle Row: Â Dice (super tiny), pistol (trigger works), Venice glass animals
Bottom Row: Â Pastries, book “Emma”, dice
I am still completely smitten with anything tiny!
