We’re going back inside my bedroom today and peeking into my “bedroom nook”. It was a space that I refreshed during the Happier Home Challenge last January. I love how it turned out and it completely changed the look and feel of the room!

Before Bedroom Nook

Things got thrown onto this storage cabinet when we first moved into our house and then it sat there for a year and a half. It was one of those spaces that I tried to ignore…

When working on a space like this I ALWAYS start with cleaning and decluttering. I like to remove EVERYTHING and give the space a good wipe down. Here’s a little clip of me cleaning it out last January 🙂

There’s something about the decluttering/cleaning process that feels sooooo good! It clears my mind and helps me to be more intentional with what goes back into the space.

After Bedroom Nook

And here’s the after!!! So much better right?

I used this sweet photo of CJ and me as the jumping-off point for the space. It was a great way to tell our love story and our 23 years of marriage in this little nook 🙂

Next, I framed a couple black and white photos and organized our love notes in linen boxes.

I even popped one in a frame ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

The lighting was replaced and the walls got a fresh coat of white paint.

Of course I LOVE adding fresh flowers as often as I can 🙂

And here’s a peek inside my jewelry box just for funzies!

Once I finally fixed up this space, it made a huge impact on the overall feeling of our room and it became a place to honor the love story of my marriage. Now every time I walk up the stairs I get this grounded and happy feeling. I absolutely love it!

Recap and What’s Next?

If you’re just catching up, here are the previous posts in the “before and after parade!”

Tomorrow we’ll be in the bedroom again where I’ll be sharing my favorite spot to work, read a book, or relax. It’s also home to my hot pink chair ❤️

See you tomorrow!
