Come on in and have a seat in my hot pink chair! It’s the place where I relax, read, work on my laptop, and curl up with a cup of tea and a blanket.

Here’s what this area looked like when we first moved in. Drab curtains on the walls and too much furniture stuffed into a small space.

And here’s the AFTER!!! With lots of natural light pouring in, this has turned into one of my favorite spots to relax.

I rearranged the furniture to give the chair a bit more breathing room and updated the curtains with my favorite navy blackout curtains from Overstock.

Then I added some GORGEOUS artwork! This original oil paining by Kristin Cronic was the first time I’d bought a “real” piece of art. I was worried about spending so much on an “original”, but I’m so happy I took the leap! It matches the pink chair PERFECTLY and it brings such joy and richness to the space.

After that, I added two quirky art prints from Janet Hill Studio. They fit the empty window spaces perfectly and added a sense of whimsy.

To finish the space off, I added this FABULOUS side table from Anthropologie. I love how unusual the shape is. It does it’s job while still being delicate and opinionated 🙂

I think the reason I’m so drawn to this space is I feel like it perfectly reflects me 🙂 Have you ever created a space like that?

It truly is a magical feeling ✨

Changes Made

  • Added curtains, rug, and a side table
  • Invested in beautiful artwork
  • Painted the walls

Lessons Learned

  • Artwork is the BEST!!! This was the first time I had purchased an original piece of art and it was 100% worth it!
  • Small awkward spaces are great for filling up with art prints – hello mr. and ms.

Recap and What’s Next?

If you’re just catching up, here are the previous posts in the “before and after parade!”

Tomorrow is our last day of the Parade! Do you believe it? Thank you to everyone that’s been following along. I’ll be taking you into my cottage studio to end the parade with a bang!

See you tomorrow!
